Από το Ευρωπαϊκό τμήμα της ΔΟΟΟ προκηρύσσεται διαγωνισμός για τους νεαρούς-ες Επιστήμονες Οικιακής Οικονομίας. Το θέμα είναι η Παγκόσμια Ευημερία(μέσα από την Οικιακή Οικονομία). Συγκεκριμένα όσοι -ες θέλουν να συμμετέχουν ( που θα πρέπει να είναι μέχρι 30 χρονών) θα πρέπει να γράψουν ένα κείμενο 1500 λέξεων, στα αγγλικά, με το οποίο θα περιγράφουν την απόκτηση Παγκόσμιας Ευημερίας μέσα από την επιστήμη της Οικιακής Οικονομίας.
Το έπαθλο θα είναι 1000 ευρώ, ως μέρος των απαιτούμενων χρημάτων για την παρακολούθηση του Παγκόσμιου Συνεδρίου που θα πραγματοποιηθεί στην Μελβούρνη τον Ιούλιο του 2012. Η προθεσμία είναι η 1η Νοεμβρίου 2011 και οι αιτήσεις και το κείμενο θα πρέπει να σταλούν στον James Mc Intosh,ο οποίος είναι και υπεύθυνος του διαγωνισμού!

Global Wellbeing
The European Association for Home Economics are offering two €1000.00 Bursaries for the purpose of assisting two Home Economists (graduate students, or practitioners in Home Economics), to attend and participate in the International Federation for Home Economics (IFHE) World Congress taking place in Melbourne, Australia from the 16th and 21st of July 2012.
The Bursary Award will represent a substantial contribution towards the costs of Congress Registration, travel and accommodation. Any recipient of an award should make adequate insurance arrangements, as failure to attend the Congress, for any reason, will incur a full refund.
Applications are invited for the Bursaries, which are to be offered as Training European Professional Awards.
Attending Congress provides many opportunities for networking, gaining insight into the profession from a global perspective and experiencing different cultures and educational contexts. This is the professional opportunity of a lifetime.
Training European Professional Awards
To qualify for this award applicants must be under the age of 30 on the 1st January 2012, hold a formal qualification in Home Economics and be a European citizen.
In respect of the awards, the Awards Panel will take into account the full range of the applicant’s qualifications, teaching or industrial/commercial experience and will assess the value of the overall contribution to the profession on a local, European and Global basis.

Rules and Application Notes:
• As English is the official language of the IFHE applications in other languages will not be accepted.
• Applicants are required to adhere to the stipulated word limits. Longer answers may be disqualified.
• The decision of the Judging Panel is final. There is no cash alternative nor can the Bursary be transferred. The Judging Panel comprises Home Economics Practitioners across Europe. In the interests of fairness Judges will not be informed of the applicants details including name, country, contact details or University attended.
• Not all applications may reach the Judging panel, as preliminary screening will take place of all application in a fair manner.
• All entries will be assessed with anonymity and confidentially.
• In the eyes of the Judging panel, a European Citizen is anyone with European Citizenship, for the avoidance of doubt, this is not confined to just the European Union.
• Accommodation will be with the Young Professional’s network of the IFHE in mixed accommodation.
• Any pre or post congress study tours or travel will not form part of the Bursaries. Welcome and Closing Receptions, Gala Dinner, Home Visits and Technical Excursions will be included.
• A mentor will be assigned before the Congress to enable the successful applicants to gain the most from the experience. You will be expected to spend some time each day with the nominated mentor.
• The Bursary will not cover all of the costs of Congress.
• Flights will be booked and paid for in the bursary, as will registration and accommodation. Subsistence will not be included. We cannot guarantee the flights will leave from your home country. It will be your responsibility to book flights to and from the departure point within Europe.
• A valid passport and relevant visas are the responsibility of the applicant.
• The maximum Bursary will be €1,000, any underspend will be kept by the European Association for Home Economics.
• Travel insurance and airport transfers will not be included.
• It is a condition of the bursary that the successful applicants will provide a written report by 1st October 2012 of the experiences gained and present this in person at the European Leadership Meeting of IFHE in Feb/March 2013.
• All entrants must be paid up members of the International Federation for Home Economics www.ifhe.org

• The successful applicants will be informed on 1st January 2012 by email.
• In the event of a very high standard of applications, an interview over Skype may be required.
• Applications will only be accepted by email. The successful recipients will be notified by email of the outcome. No other correspondence will be entered into.
